SHUFFLE THIS COLLECTION

Electronic music at its most primal. These sets were recorded in the desert, at Burning Man's Mayan Warrior art car, the Playground sound camp, and under open skies in the Negev. No clubs, no stages. Just dust, bass, and sunrise.

LINER NOTES MGS·BMD·14

Black Rock City has no permanent stage, so its sound rides on wheels. The Mayan Warrior art car hosted Jan Blomqvist, RUFUS DU SOL, Rex The Dog and Vintage Culture across three burns. Bob Moses played a club set from Robot Heart's bus at dawn. Monolink set up at the Playground camp in 2025, then opened the sunrise on the Long Feng dragon in 2026 while Blomqvist played Maxa through a dust storm. OTIOT took the same energy to the Negev Desert. Dust on every lens.

Questions about Burning Man & Desert

What is Burning Man?

A week-long gathering of around 70,000 people in Nevada's Black Rock Desert each summer. It is not a music festival: there is no lineup and no stages built by the event itself. The music comes from sound camps and roaming art cars.

What music is played at Burning Man?

Whatever the camps decide, but the desert has a sound: melodic house, organic textures, and downtempo, peaking at sunrise. The sets here from Mayan Warrior, Robot Heart, and Playground are that sound.

What is the Mayan Warrior?

A Mexico City-built art car: a mobile stage covered in lasers and a serious sound system that roams Black Rock City during Burning Man. 3 of the 6 sets here were played from it.

What is Robot Heart?

A Burning Man sound camp built around a bus with a legendary sunrise slot. Bob Moses' club set in this collection was recorded there in 2025.
